Announcements from our Sunday bulletin, May 4, 2008 Welcome to St. Paul’s and Eastertide. All are invited to the Lord's table and to our fellowship in the parish hall. We celebrate today at 10:30 the Rite 13 Liturgy. The Sacred Circle for children meets today. Prayers for healing and the laying on of hands are offered during the 10:30 service. To receive these prayers of reconciliation for yourself or on behalf of others proceed to the vestibule during the time of communion. On this first Sunday of the month, we ask all to wear name tags in the parish hall. If you need a name tag, let us know by signing the form near the kitchen window
Our breakfast today at 9:15 celebrates the beginning of the Journey to Adulthood for Hannah Judd, Lorelei Hipkins, Robin King, Victor Skorapa, and Audrey Burns. There is no Gospel study today so that all may enjoy the breakfast.
St. Paul's Mini-Cafés continue this Wednesday. The Café will be serving from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. All participants are asked to bring a dish to share. The grill will be available.
Mark your calendars for the Spring Clean-up May 17 (alternate: May 24) 8:30am to noon. Help clean the sand from the parking lot and tidy up the grounds. Because of last season's early and heavy snow, we raked leaves only once in November. Bring any of the following: leaf rakes, steel shovels, leaf blower, stiff-bristle push brooms, tarps, pick-up truck, and trailer. Coffee, donut holes, and hot chocolate will be provided.
Outreach: we especially give thanks for the ministry of Warm Thy Neighbor, housed here, and the leadership of Sallie Smith, who oversaw this winter consultations and assistance for 250 families. Here is one response: “You helped me in a such a desperate time of need. I could not heat my home for me and my child. It was all I could do not to break down and cry to know that there are people out there who truly care for another person.”
Woodworking workshops to make items for the Christmas Fair. Beginning on May 20 from 9:30-11:00 at St. Paul's Thereafter, workshops will be held at the Corbett home at 47 Hemlock Rd. in order to give us access to tools and supplies. Please wear clothes that you can get paint/sawdust on.
Looking ahead... Mark your calendars for Choral Evensong, Sunday, May 18th at 5:00 p.m. followed by an Elegant Potluck Dinner.
May the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart, always be acceptable in thy sight, O God my Strength and my Redeemer. Amen.
